Bonö Fotovoltaico, elected by the last distributed generation forum as the 2nd best photovoltaic energy company in Brazil in 2019, is intensifying the deployment of solar plants on rural properties in Mato Grosso.

According to the person responsible for Bonö's commercial operations in the Midwest, Head of Commercial Nelson Orcioli, the government has created incentive mechanisms for the sector. At the federal level, the government decided to exempt solar energy equipment from import taxes until the end of 2021. At the state level, Mato Grosso has just approved the amendment that establishes tax exemption for the use of solar energy in the state.

“Although photovoltaic plants provide energy savings, some producers still have questions about the process steps and related costs. Therefore, tax incentives tend to contribute to the popularization of the theme, which can result in new projects in the region”, comments Orcioli.

Today, according to the National Electric Energy Agency (ANEEL), Mato Grosso occupies the 5th place in the ranking of installed power. However, according to Orcioli, there is still great potential to be explored, mainly by agribusiness, which may find in solar energy a competitive advantage in terms of production costs.

The company has a technical team focused on developing solutions for rural properties and, in this sense, has been creating photovoltaic power plants that have the capacity to fully supply the processes. This means that a rural property can use solar energy to power agricultural machinery and equipment, in addition to providing light, heat, cooling or ventilation in the premises.

Among the projects installed in Mato Grosso, Bonö is responsible for four of the largest solar energy plants in the state and the Midwest, they are: São José Farm, São Caetano Farm, Luciana Farm and Modelo Farm in Primavera do Leste, MT .

Economic and environmental sustainability

The total installed power, only in the Mato Grosso plants, is 4 Megawatts (4000 kWp). This power can produce enough energy to supply an average of 2500 homes (which spend up to R$ 150.00 per month). In environmental terms, these four solar plants will avoid carbon emissions by around 20,000 tons per year. Also, for comparison purposes with other sources of energy production, this reduction in carbon emissions is equivalent to 3225 reforestation trees per year.

ABOUT THE COMPANY

Founded in 2016, in the city of Londrina, Bono Fotovoltaico is already considered the largest in Paraná and one of the largest in the country. The business was created by young people who saw solar energy as an opportunity to meet the growing demand in the sector. In 2019, it expanded its operations, and now it has a branch in Primavera do Leste, MT.

With more than 650 projects delivered and more than 20,000 kWp installed, the company saw its revenues skyrocket, ending 2019 with 35 million reais billed. In the first half of 2020, even during the economic crisis, it grew by 100%, compared to the same period of the previous year.
